What is your brand mission?
Our mission is to create premium, innovative, safe and effective hair care. Our focus is on natural and naturally derived ingredients, that offer the solutions and results our customers are looking for.


Who formulates Holistic Hair products?
The original Holistic Hair products were formulated by a Trichologist and Aromatherapist. As the brand has grown, the formulation team has expanded to include qualified chemists and industry experts.


Where are the products manufactured?
Holistic Hair formulations are blended and packaged in New Zealand, in a certified GMP cosmetic manufacturing facility.


How do you ensure the safety of ingredients and end products?
We assess the safety of all raw materials before including them in our formulations.  The products are processed under a strict manufacturing process using ingredients purchased from ethical suppliers. Batch sheets for the products are computer generated and can only be modified and approved by senior staff to ensure quality & consistency. Quality control checks are carried out to include odour, appearance, pH and viscosity. An independent consulting laboratory carries out micro-testing for every batch.


What is included in the range?
The range includes shampoos, conditioners, extra care and styling products.


What makes Holistic Hair products different from other brands in the market?
We have a holistic philosophy and promote the relationship between inner health and outer beauty.  Our founder is a practising Trichologist, specialising in the physiology of the scalp & hair and associated disorders. Holistic Hair products utilise ingredients from nature, in particular plant oils and extracts utilising aromatherapy priniciples to achieve effective and solution-based products.


Where are your ingredients sourced and why?
Sourcing is a complex task and where possible we do source locally. Some of our ingredients are also sourced internationally but are strictly monitored, to ensure they are obtained from safe suppliers, that follow our sustainable and ethical practices.


Are Holistic Hair products 100% natural?
We provide a percentage of natural origin which includes ingredients that are both natural and naturally derived. This percentage is found on the front of every product.


Do your products include any synthetic ingredients?
We look to minimise synthetic ingredients and prefer to use natural and naturally derived ingredients. However, due to the scarcity of natural preservatives and for product stability, we do use nature identical ingredients, which are synthetic, to preserve our products. We are not averse to using synthetic ingredients that have been researched for safety and offer significant benefits.


Which ingredients do you strictly avoid?
We have a research team who monitor ingredient safety worldwide. Any ingredient that is flagged as potentially unsafe is placed on our avoid list. Our list to avoid is too extensive to publish but includes; formaldehyde, synthetic fragrance, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sulfates,1, 4-dioxane, petroleum derivatives etc.


Are any of your products Vegan or Vegetarian?
The majority of Holistic Hair products can be used by those who adhere to veganism or prefer products that do not contain ingredients of animal origin. An exception to this is our Pure Shampoo & Conditioner as it includes Manuka Honey.


Do any of your products contain nut ingredients?
Our Scalp Treatment Oil contains Sweet Almond.


What is your policy on animal testing?
We advocate cruelty-free and are proud to manufacture in New Zealand, a country that prohibits testing on animals.


Is your packaging Recyclable?
Yes, all of our packaging is recyclable. The recycle number appears as a symbol on the bottle.


Are your bottles BPA free?
Yes, all of our bottles are free from Bisphenol A (BPA).

How long does a product last once opened?
You can reference the Period after Opening (POA) symbol on the back of every label.


Are your shampoos safe for infants?
Although we are confident our products are suitable for everyone, infants can be allergic to any number of ingredients. Due to this fact, we recommend a patch test first.


I am pregnant, can I use your shampoos and conditioners?
Pure Shampoo and Conditioner are formulated without essential oils.


What payment options do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Paypal payments.


My order never arrived, what should I do?
Check your email for our dispatch confirmation with tracking details.  If that doesn’t work, email us on order@holistichair.co.nz and we will locate your parcel for you.


My order arrived incomplete or damaged, what should I do?
Email us on order@holistichair.co.nz and we will resolve the issue.
