  • Understanding the differences between Psoriasis & Eczema and how to manage a sensitive scalp!

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that results in the overproduction of skin cells. The dead cells build up into silvery-white scales. It can occur anywhere on the body, often the scalp, and the skin becomes inflamed and red, causing serious itching and discomfort.

Typically, dermatologists prescribe topical corticosteroid creams or light therapy.

Eczema, or atopic dermatitis, occurs because of a hypersensitivity reaction. This causes the skin to overreact to certain triggers, such as dyes, fabrics, soaps, animals, and other irritants. The dryness associated with eczema can cause red painful cracked skin.

Eczema is treated with emollients or topical corticosteroid creams. Other cases of eczema may require antibiotic creams or prescription oral medications. Barrier creams are useful to protect skin from irritants and infections, allowing it to heal.

Both of these conditions can be mild or severe, depending on the individual.

If you do suffer from Psoriasis, Eczema or a sensitive scalp, you may be looking for a shampoo that your scalp can tolerate or better still will soothe your scalp. Our Pure Shampoo with Aloe Vera and Manuka Honey is a minimalist formulation designed to calm and soothe the scalp and nourish the hair. Ingredients are chosen for their mildness and healing properties.

If you are looking for a natural moisturising oil to soften and remove the plaque caused by the Psoriasis or to counteract itching & dryness from the Eczema then our Scalp Treatment Oil is very effective.
