B Corp Certification is a globally recognised verification that a business meets high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. At Holistic Hair, being a Certified B Corporation reflects our deep commitment to using business as a force for good—balancing profit with purpose to positively impact our customers, communities, and the planet.
This certification recognises a company’s impact across its entire operations—from how it treats people and the planet to how it governs itself and creates long-term value.
To achieve B Corp Certification, companies complete the comprehensive B Impact Assessment (BIA), developed by the nonprofit B Lab. This framework measures a business’s performance across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. Results are then reviewed and verified by B Lab, with a minimum score of 80 points required. The process takes, on average, 12 months, and businesses must update and verify their assessment every three years to maintain certification.
B Corp Certification is a mark of accountability and continuous improvement. The “Certified B Corporation” trademark is licensed only to businesses that have completed the verification process and demonstrated their commitment to meeting and maintaining these standards.
The “B” stands for Benefit. B Corps are businesses that meet verified standards and commit to delivering benefits to all stakeholders—not just shareholders. This includes workers, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. At Holistic Hair, we believe in a better way of doing business—one that puts people and the planet at the heart of every decision.
As a Certified B Corporation, Holistic Hair has signed the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence, affirming our belief that:
“We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good. This economy is comprised of a new type of corporation—the B Corporation—which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.”
- We must be the change we seek in the world.
- All business should be conducted as if people and place matter.
- Through our products, practices, and profits, we aspire to do no harm and benefit all.
- We are each dependent on one another and responsible for each other and future generations.
